Stepping our VD game up!Published: 2011-12-16House of Test is answering Petter's and Sven's call to step up our VD game and supports Musikhjälpen's campaign to help girls get an education with 5000 kr. Up to about 50 million girls never get the opportunity to attend or finish school, despite it's a basic human right. Every day, millions of girls stay at home working with domestic chores instead of going to school. A girl without education risks ending up in extreme poverty, being forced into arranged marriage or prostitution. A girl with an education is better equipped to take care of herself and her children. A girl without education is 10 times as likely to be a parent in her teens than a girl with basic education. Many girls do not attend school due to the risk of rape or other assaults, either going to and from school, or in the school itself. Two thirds of the world's illiterate are women. For each year of education a woman's salary increase with about 20% To give a girl an education is to save lives. You can follow the campaign on
The Newspaper "Expressen" has also written about the campaign on one of their blogs: http://bloggar.expressen.se/fredriksjoshult/2011/12/sveriges-mest-generosa-direktorer/ |
